AI Multiplies Me, and Everyone Else

Last year, if you had told me AI would take care of all the development work while I sat and watched, I would have said no way. Yet here I am, and it's happening. I'm living through a very interesting time, and honestly, a slightly terrifying one.
My Workstation Now Looks Like a Team
Right now, several AI agents run on my workstation at the same time. Together they do the work of a 10-people team. Market research, prospect outreach, heavy development, QA tests, marketing creatives, copywriting: all of it is handled on my behalf. My job is to lead them. I wonder how long that job stays mine, because I can't see why leading couldn't be automated too.
It's a Two-Sided Sword
On one side, AI helps me do more, faster, and better. That part is great.
On the other side, everyone else gets the same boost. Lawyers, copywriters, designers, creators, developers, managers, analysts, SEO experts. When everyone can do the work themselves, fewer people need to buy it from me. Less dependency on my products and services. The same logic applies to your work, whatever it is.
My Customers Are Changing
The economy is changing, and spending habits with it. Even my customers are changing, because more of them are becoming AI agents. Building software for human beings may be gone in a few years (maybe months?). Software will be created by AI agents, for AI agents. Spending will be done by AI agents too.
I don't have a clean answer for what that does to a software business like mine. I'm still working it out.
What We Replaced This Year
Here's the concrete part. This year we stopped paying for software and SaaS tools worth almost six digits, and we built the replacements in-house:
- Customer journey tracking: Lyraflow
- Link shortening and tracking: ClickMonk
- Email marketing and ESPs: Octeth
- Demo videos: DemoPolish
- Email deliverability tests: QuickTests
- Support system: a tailored, feature-packed system built by our AI agents, embedded into the Octeth Client Portal
- Cold outreach and lead generation: handled in-house by our AI agents, with no third-party software
Every item on that list is a subscription someone else used to collect from us. That's exactly what's now happening to my own products, from the other side.
What Will Humans Do?
I keep coming back to one question, and I don't have an answer for it.
What will humans do?
Terrifying.
