Finding Balance: Optimism, Reality, and Personal Growth

Unlearning vs. Learning

I’m learning some big lessons lately. As I hit my 40s I’m realizing it’s what’s inside that matters more than what’s outside.

I’ve found that focusing on what I can control – my thoughts, feelings and actions – makes a huge difference. Take my workout routine for example. Sticking to it has shown me how small everyday choices can add up to big changes.

But life’s also taught me I can’t control everything. I’ve always been an optimist which has mostly served me well. But when I lost my mom to cancer it hit me hard. My belief she’d get better kept me from seeing how serious it was. It taught me that while optimism is great we need to face reality too.

On the business side this year has been full of new opportunities. I’ve been delegating more inspired by Dan Martel’s book “Buy Back Your Time”. It’s not only increasing our productivity but also helping me grow. I’ve also been reading “Reality Transurfing” by Vadim Zeland which has got me thinking about how to shape my life path.

Looking back at my 20s and 30s I was all about chasing business goals. It was good but now I see the value in slowing down and enjoying the present. Life’s short and I’m learning to appreciate each moment more.

I’m sharing this because I want to connect with you. By living with intention, reality and appreciation we can all win. Every day is an opportunity to grow and learn more about ourselves. Let’s do it.
