2026: A Blank Page

2026: A Blank Page

It's January 1st, 2026, and I'm staring at a blank page again. I love this feeling.

Most people fear starting over. They cling to what they've built, terrified of blank pages. But I've learned something different—I'm 47 now, and what's changed isn't my love for fresh starts. It's what I want to write on them.

The Fresh Start Addiction

I've been this way since childhood.

My old 80286 PC knew it well—I'd format that hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch just because I could do it better the second time. My friends thought I was crazy. Why destroy something that works? But I saw it differently. Every fresh start was a chance to apply what I learned, to build smarter, to eliminate the cruft that accumulated without me noticing.

Nothing's changed. I still love doing things from scratch. I still don't fear the blank page. The only difference now is I understand why this matters—and I've stopped apologizing for it.

The Ambition Shift

Something happens as you get older that nobody warns you about.

The ambitions that drove you for decades start losing their grip. Money, status, achievement—they don't disappear, but they stop being the main character in your story. It's not that they don't matter. They just... matter differently.

New ambitions take their place. Intangible ones. Quality time with family (not just time—quality, focused time). New experiences. Physical strength. Mental resilience. The ability to stay calm. The luxury of getting bored. The simple pleasure of nice weather and staying idle without guilt.

These aren't consolation prizes for aging. They're the real wealth that only a few people ever achieve.

The Blank Page of 2026

Today is January 1st, 2026. A completely blank page.

I was born in 1979, so I've lived through 46 years—46 pages in my life's notebook. I don't know how many pages are left. Nobody does. That's not the point.

Here's what I do know: 2026 is empty. Completely blank. And that's exactly how I want it.

I have an opportunity to write better this time. To make a great start. Keep it organized. Keep it well-written across this year. In my experience, fresh starts aren't about erasing mistakes—they're about applying what those mistakes taught you.

The AI Era Advantage

We're living in a strange time. AI is changing everything about how we work and what we can accomplish. For people like me—people who love starting fresh and building better—this is perfect timing.

The era of AI makes intangible wealth more achievable. We can maintain and grow our tangible assets with less grinding. That creates space. Space for inner peace. Space for mental and physical health. Space for the things that actually matter.

As long as we can preserve that inner peace—both mental and physical health—the rest becomes easier.

Make It Shine

I'm Cem Hurturk. I don't fear the blank page—I welcome it.

Every fresh start is a chance to be better than yesterday's Cem. To learn from the previous years and write this one with more wisdom, more focus, more intention. The ambitions have shifted. The priorities have evolved. But the core remains.

Start fresh. Build better. Make it shine.

Here's to 2026.

Real Freedom Starts When No One Knows What You're Doing

Real Freedom Starts When No One Knows What You're Doing

Real freedom isn’t loud or flashy—it’s quiet, peaceful, and invisible to most. In this piece, I share what I’ve learned about building a life on your own terms: staying low-key, building financial stability, dropping the ego, and moving in silence. It’s not about escaping the world, but about no longer being controlled by it.

Consistency Through AI-Powered Systems: Buying Back Your Time in the AI Era

Consistency is the proven path to exponential outcomes, but creating consistency used to be hard. Not anymore. We're living in the best time in history to build systems that work for us—thanks to AI. In this post, I explore how systematizing your daily actions with AI can reduce your time spent to 1/10 or even 0/10, buying back your time while building the consistency that drives real results.

Anger Doesn’t Change the Flow of Life

Anger Doesn’t Change the Flow of Life

I used to believe that pushing harder—controlling every detail, reacting fast, fighting outcomes—was the way to get what I wanted in life. But over time, I’ve learned that anger doesn’t change reality, it just drains you. Life moves like a river, with its own current, and the more you resist it, the harder things become. This post is a reminder to myself to stop fighting, let go of the need to control, and trust the flow instead. Peace comes not from force, but from learning to steer with the current—not against it.
